Actual deductions may differ because of cumulative PAYE records, payroll timing and rounding, benefits in kind, tax-code adjustments, previous income, irregular payments, directors’ National Insurance, pension scheme rules and information not entered into the calculator.
Multiple employments
Income Tax is estimated using combined annual employment income, while National Insurance is shown separately because it is generally calculated for each employment and pay period. The P45/P60 guard relies on the user correctly identifying whether later cumulative figures already include an earlier employment.

Confirm important figures using your payslip, P45, P60, pension documents and HMRC account. Do not make pension, employment or tax-payment decisions solely from this estimate.
